Left handed woes

Unnatural.

Wrong.

Unstable.

My hand shaking, I slowly uncap the pen and place it in my grip.

Unnatural.

I pick up a piece of paper with my left hand, and my right hand slowly moves down until the pen is touching the paper.

Wrong.

Pulling my hand to the right, I write out my name on the paper.

Unstable.

The letters are jagged, and it looks like my 6-year-old brother wrote this.

Messy.

My hand is trembling, not used to this sudden stress on a hand that is never used.

Shaky.

Why must I take part in writing with this hand? My left was fine.

I am part of the 10% of left-handed people, I am one of the special ones.

Forcing me to write with my right hand should be a crime against me.

Dropping the pen after finishing up my last name, I wring my hand out, trying to get the weird feeling out of it.

Never wanting to do that again, I place the pen back in my left hand.

Immediately, my soul feels back at peace

My head calms

And I can breathe again.

Life is just so much better left-handed.
