I had mainly left all these stuffed animals lying around the house. I wanted to make this piece to represent the things in our lives that remain “unnoticed”, and used minimal colors in the background to emphasize the subjects, the things in my life that I hadn’t paid enough attention to. Throughout the process of making this piece, I first organized the stuffed animals in an aesthetically pleasing manner, then I took a picture of it, printed it out, and drew a grid on both the reference and the actual paper I’d make my art on. After that, I used the grid to sketch out the foreground, used different colored pencils to color in the piece, and then used a white gel pen to put on finishing touches, the highlights. I want this piece to show the viewers the amount of time others have put into making the things around us.
