This piece immediately caught my eye. I like how the colorful cake contrasts with the rest of the drawing, which is black and white. The stress on the hollow eyes and expression really conveys the fear and the feeling of not wanting to grow up, not wanting to blow the candles on the cake, which mark another year passing by.

The contrast of the light and dark colors is really beautiful. I’m sure many people, including myself, can relate to the fear of getting older.

This drawing is truly extremely beautiful, from the dark colors with the contrast of the colorful ones. I feel like I relate to the fear of getting older and I really like the way this drawing is portrayed. Also the way the artist used pastels on a dark paper is extremely impressive, since one mistake can really change the trajectory of the drawing.
