metamorphosis

is the process of a caterpillar

going through the motions

the only job a caterpillar has is to eat

you provided me words

simply enough

gave me more of a reason to shift my focus

turning into a butterfly

bursting with colors all around

butterflies have many jobs

including, but not limited to

pollination, eating weeds, and providing food for other animals

while the caterpillar has a transparent path,

the butterfly owns more responsibilities to maintain

you provided me color

to the dullness i lived in for the longest time

now i just live in hopes

it doesn’t all fall to ruins
