This portrait depicts a girl wearing a traditional flower crown from the Puyuma people indigenous to Taiwan. Her face also bears the pattern symbolic of various other indigenous tribes in Taiwan, such as the Saisiyat, Kavalan, Thao, Paiwan, Amis, Bunun, etc. I wanted to capture the beautiful marks of these disappearing tribes.
