Helen’s Retribution

(Alternate reality where Helena seeks revenge on the other three lovers)

Twigs snap under the swift sobbing maiden,

Tears stream down her face as she curses him.

Her love for him must have been mistaken

As rage seeps through her, her expression grim.

Helena passes the sleeping lovers,

And she reminisces what could have been.

Her gaze shifts, a sharp branch she discovers

Smiling, she picks it up, plotting her sin.

Without remorse, she lunges towards them

Pierces them once through the heart, twice the eyes.

Now love is truly blind, so she condemns

The one who loves her not finds his demise.

Face spattered with blood red, their eyes connect,

He regrets the maiden he did reject.
