Just yesterday we were kids on a playground where we would run and play. We were told about how life would be when we got older and then we would tell our parents we couldn’t wait till we were old enough to stay past bedtime or eat sweets. Things were simpler then than it is now. Kids who were smart in elementary now struggle in high-school, things that are harder are easy and things that used to be easy are harder now. Dreams of what we wanted to be now became more realistic of what someone could actually do. Between homework, school, clubs, and thoughts of the future, we don’t have time for those simple moments where no one had to worry about anything except making friends. I wish we could go back and live those moments a bit longer. Now it’s all about college and jobs, how much money we need to make a living as you start to overwork yourself because it’s not enough anymore. They say do your best, but how can you do your best when it isn’t even enough anymore for the real world? Just yesterday, I wished I didn’t worry so much about the small things.
