Hey I’m the blue Iguana, I bet you wanna,
Hear more about me, Well you see!
I’m blue with scales, you’ll hear tales of my nails,
Which are gray, just like insects, my prey.
As a primary producer I eat leaves, stems, and nuts.
As a secondary, no dairy,
Just bugs, crabs, and slugs.
But grab this! My status is endangered.
Food is never served to us on a manger.
We’re losing our habitat cuz of rats, cats, and bats.
They’re feral and they hunt us, and humans hunt us too.
Come on man, we matter, we fill the soil with her poo.
Which has seeds in it, we’re pollinators dig it.
That’s why we’re important to cayman island. You’re taking away our home, this is my land.
Hey man, at least we got the BIC, The Blue Iguana Conservation, si?
They monitor a facility that helps us with agility and gives us the ability to
reproduce and be of use.
They give us rocks, a place to stay.
We’re kept in locks, but thats ok.
Cuz cyclura lewisi will live to see the day,
When we let out again on the beautiful cayman bay.
The end!
