Until the End

Until the End

Julianna Patterson '23

drowning beneath the lionizing sun

come defeather my corroding tree

carry the whole of me

within your bottomless pockets

go with him

shimmering water circulating synchronically

you should have stuck with me

your loyalty continued to be overestimated

I lacked your occupancy

you were supposed to stand amidst me

like doors on hinges

until the end right?

I was mistaken

possess him as the blinding sun sinks

I’ll be here

reclining within the luminescent stars

calculating each individual second

hopelessly anticipating

for the blazing sun to drown me once again
