The Light

surrounded with a clear glass, might as well be as bright as the sun

you not only light up a room for visibility, but you light up the surrounding rooms.

it may be dim, but it counts for something,

because of how bright you are.

leave you on too long, you get blisteringly hot,

so scorching, untouchable.

your winding, never ending filament,

the main source of your light never fails

until it does.

the exchange seems simple, and somewhat painless,

but not everything can be easy
