Spooky Ghost in the Forest

I venture into the forest at night

A dark cool breeze lifts the hair on my skin

I feel as though I am in someone’s sight

But here I know no phantoms lie within

Good rationale is what I value most

For disquiet is often man’s downfall

Who even these days believes in ghosts?

To scream and shout is foolishness’s call

I hurry on, the silence is choking

Shadows begin to shuffle around me

My breath and vision are barely coping

I finally see: my fate has reached me

My shattered screams and bones rustle the leaves

Fear finally arrived this Hallow’s Eve
