Overthrowing My Headache

Poem by Julianna Patterson ’23

My life has continuously remained complex.

My parents are separated,

My sibling is deaf.

So when they get exasperated,

They simply walk elsewhere.

If they can’t see you

Then you didn’t announce anything

Therefore, I become irate

The affairs I suffer don’t comfort me amidst this fury

I used to be flawless, and presently I am not.

Meanwhile, if I attempt to be exemplary again, it isn’t probable

Time stole that from me

However, I learned that life gets greater,

And greater.

I strive to face it directly.

Appreciating there is a future concerning you and me,

So don’t give in now.
